Last year's shirts.

Pink shirt 1

I've been studying for an exam in evolutionary theory (big yikes) and after an entire day of reading and writing I decided it was due time to clean out some of the dustier folders in my computer. I came across these photos, a shirt and skirt I made years ago (2003 or 2004?). The style is really dated, but I love the colours in the photograph.

Just the other day on the walk to campus I started seriously considering picking up my SLR again (if I can get my hands on a good zoom lens- I want to photograph birds), and these photos really encourage the sentiment. Oh grainy film, how I miss thee.

Christmas dress.

IMG_7125

I've been trying to use some of the fabric I bought on etsy this summer. So this dress is a mix of wool and Japanese linen.

I bought the Matryoshka doll linen on etsy.

Sweetheart Blouse.

Oh my, sewing all day long. I'm not as keen on this one as with the petal-shirt, but I am nonetheless making myself one in yellow. I love the cotton I've found, it's as soft as eider down.

More petals.

I've got a four day holiday so am sewing up a storm before the term starts up in a few weeks. I've started a new Etsy page (for all things not underwear) where I think I'll try to sell these shirts:

http://www.TouchMeNever.etsy.com

It isn't entirely set up yet, but shall be within the next couple of days.

Petal-collar shirt.

IMG_4044

Have been thinking about making these shirts in a variety of colours and selling them. I have no idea if they are the kind of thing that people would buy- with underwear I don't need to worry as much as they're made largely with leftover scraps and hand-me-down fabrics (mostly from Heather!). Shirts, on the other hand, seem riskier.

Anyone suggestions? Honest criticism is always appreciated.

Part Two: The post I promised I would not make.

And they are so fun to make!

That's the last of it. No more underwear on here, I swear.

The post I promised I would never make.

When Heather and I started this blog, I promised her that I would not post about underwear. (For the reason behind this promise, see my other blog: http://www.pedal-pushers.livejournal.com).

The moment has come, however, to break my promise [on my third entry, my hearty self-discipline impresses even me] and post a new style of undies that I've come up with and am pretty excited about. I have finally designed a pattern that enables me to incorporate fancy stretch-lace into my knickers. Huzzah! Here's to French lace.
